Starting work at 16 I completed one of the last ‘traditional’ apprenticeships as a toolmaker and then started to diversify!
Moving into fabrication and welding as it was easier to pick up temporary positions I did some travelling and then returned to the UK and moved into more precision fabrication in the world of non-ferrous TIG welding.
Jobs as varied as working on a sheep shearing robot project to building Para-Olympic winning wheelchairs! ….oh, and working behind a bar….
Then I started a long stint as a workshop instructor and then after teaching myself CAD in the late 90s moved into CADCAM training.
