Definitions:

Reference Model – the CAD model you want to machine

Workpiece – the stock material the Reference Model will be machined from

Manufacturing Assembly (Mfg Asm) – a set of machining processes which machine the Reference Model from the Workpiece

LMB – Left mouse button

RMB – right mouse button

MMB – middle mouse button

Setup Process:

1. In Windows Explorer navigate to Favorites/TeachDoc/Loughborough Design School/Masters CNC

2. Copy this folder to your Individual Workspace or U:/ space

3. Rename template_router_mfg.asm with your ID number at the beginning eg. B212345_mfg.asm

– you cannot use spaces or hyphens ‘-‘ in Creo files names

– leave the _mfg in the name to identify it as a manufacturing file rather than a standard assembly file

4. Start Creo Parametric 2.0

5. File > Open

6. Navigate to your Individual Workspace, RMB on your CNC folder, choose ‘Set Working Directory’ – this will now be your default folder

7. Open your CNC assembly (.asm) – do not double click Creo files to open, the primary file association is to a simple file viewer rather than the modelling software, open from within Creo
